Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Sensors

Beacons are small, robust devices that use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to transmit information to a receiving device within a radius of several metres. They regularly and actively send a data packet of information, such as identifiers, signal strength, documents, logs - and sensory measurements, if the BLE beacon is equipped with a sensor - which is received by compatible gateways, smartphones or tablets. In contrast to conventional Bluetooth connections, BLE beacons do not require pairing with the receiving device, which makes them particularly energy-efficient. 

 

 

Fields of application

Our BLE sensors are used in many areas: 

  • Smart Buildings: BLE sensors can be used in buildings to control various automation processes. The use of pressure beacons enables permanent monitoring of water and air pressure pipes. A drop in pressure is registered immediately and countermeasures can be initiated. 
  • Smart Factory: Environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity and air quality are monitored during a production process using BLE sensors. This data is particularly important in areas where certain conditions must be maintained in order to guarantee product quality. 
  • Smart Retail & Logistics: Retailers and logisticians use BLE sensors to receive targeted information during the transport of high-priced goods and perishable goods. By constantly sending information on temperature, humidity, movement and vibration, the quality and integrity of the goods is ensured. 
  • Smart devices: The machine status and potential failures can be detected at an early stage through the use of BLE sensors that detect vibrations and accelerations. These sensors enable precise monitoring of machine parameters, allowing maintenance and downtimes to be planned more efficiently. This leads to a significant reduction in costs due to minimised machine downtimes.

BLE Gateway

These sensors can continuously measure data and send it to the central INDUSTRY 0906 BLE gateway, where it is analysed and processed.
